Norman Goodwin, chief executive of Adoption Matters, will perform thesame role in the new agency, while Blackburn Diocesan's chief executiveBrian Williams has retired. Goodwin said: "The merger is about trying tounderstand the market and the need for adoption services to be well runand efficient. It combines two relationships that have worked in thepast."
The new agency will work on finding homes for between 3,500 and 4,000children each year. It expects to carry on placing between 40 and 60children a year, which is the number the former agencies wouldplace.
Goodwin added that he wanted to continue and develop the goodrelationships that the agencies had with local authorities in the NorthWest.
