SEXUAL OFFENCES: Amendment to bill will protect workers

This was welcomed by The National Children's Bureau, which said: "NCB is confident the discussions with government officials will not create unintended consequences for teachers and other professionals."

Terri Dowty, acting joint national co-ordinator of The Children's Rights Alliance for England, said: "It would be a starting point to acknowledge the reality of sex between young people."

The Bill is now due to move into the House of Commons.
