Scouts win award for PR campaign

The Scout Association's Stop the Rain Tax campaign has won a top public relations award.

The organisation scooped the Chartered Institute of Public Relations' excellence award for a public affairs campaign last month. The Rain Tax campaign saw adults and young people mobilised to ensure unfair water charges were not imposed on Scout groups in England and Wales.

Nancy Ibrahim, a young campaigner who worked on the campaign, said: "It was an amazing experience for me to address loads of MPs about the unfair tax that Ofwat wanted to introduce that would have penalised our Scout groups."
