Kathleen Marshall, the country's recently appointed commissioner for children and young people, has just signed the lease for her premises, which are located next to the new Scottish Parliament building in the capital.
Young people have been helping Marshall plan how the building will look, to ensure it will be as accessible as possible for their peers.
She hopes to have the offices ready in time for the Scottish Parliament's official opening on 8 October.
About 16 employees will eventually work there, although the commissioner is still devising the staff structure. Work on designing a logo for the post is still ongoing.
