Scots widen focus on antisocial acts

1 min read Youth Justice
A focus group of young people has been set up to look at anti-social behaviour as part of a Scottish government review.

The youth focus group and a public forum are part of the Scottish government's wider review on how to tackle anti-social behaviour. The review was announced last October and comes more than three years after the Antisocial Behaviour (Scotland) Act came into force. It aims to examine how legislative and non-legisative measures may be improved to keep communities safe.

A project board has been set up, which includes members from the Scottish Children's Reporter Administration, YouthLink Scotland and the Scottish Youth Parliament.

Fergus Ewing, minister for community safety, said the review would help develop a better understanding of the different local approaches and identify where improvements are needed. "I hope we can reach an agreement on how approaches to tackling and preventing antisocial behaviour may be strengthened and improved," he said.
