SCOTLAND: Youthlink unveils survey on young

1 min read

A poll that quizzed more than 2,000 people aged 11 to 25 found that just over half hung out on the streets while nine per cent would like to do so more.

One per cent described themselves as badly behaved, although 60 per cent felt the media portrayed them as such.

Television was the most likely conversation topic for two-thirds of 17- to 25-year-olds.

Youth groups played a prominent part in a small number of young people's lives and informal youth work activities were found to be the most popular.

Six out of 10 young people told researchers they played sport or took part in physical activity at least once a week. Youthlink Scotland plans to conduct the Mori poll annually.
