Scotland: Young Scot boosts health information

1 min read

Youth information agency Young Scot opened a specialist health service last week, funded by NHS Health Scotland.

It is the first addition to the Young Scot Info Line, an information service that launched at the end of October. The next addition will be an arts information service, which the organisation hopes to launch within the next few months.

Young Scot currently receives more than 3,600 health-related calls a month and recent research commissioned by the organisation showed that nearly six out of 10 Scottish young people would use a health information service designed for them.

The expanded service will provide guidance for young people on issues such as exercise, sexual health, relationships and bullying, as well as an information point for subjects including travel vaccinations.
