Scotland: Young people make film on grief

Young people are to launch a film about bereavement as part of a Scotland-wide drive to encourage children to grieve healthily.

Dead Right, made by young people working with Barnardo's Scotland'sRollercoaster service, will be used as part of a five day trainingprogramme for professionals including teachers, social and healthworkers.

The 30-minute film, which features real stories, will also be screenedas part of a tour of Scotland to raise awareness of the needs ofchildren affected by bereavement and trauma.

Martin Crewe, director of Barnardo's Scotland, said it was important torecognise that bereaved children need a range of therapy that dealsspecifically with the effects of trauma.
