Scotland: Scottish youth to be given entitlement card

1 min read

The free card for 11- to 26-year-olds has been created by the Scottish Executive, in partnership with youth information agency Young Scot, local authorities and other Scottish organisations.

It will first be introduced for 16- to 18-year-olds over the next few months, to enable them to access the national concessionary travel scheme announced for their age group earlier this month (YPN, 15-21 November, p4). It will then be phased in for other age groups.

Young people will be given the option of having the Young Scot logo and Proof of Age Standards Scheme (PASS) hologram on their cards, giving them access to perks including discounts at national stores. The card will also provide access to the agency's range of information and support.
