SCOTLAND: Science event offers astronaut meeting

Last week's Science and Enterprise Challenge saw 14 teams of pupils develop a game that would get young people interested in the world of science. They were also asked to devise a business plan for the game.

The scheme was designed and organised by the country's equivalent of Connexions.

Pupils from Harris Academy school in Dundee won the event with Alien Antics, a board game that takes children through the solar system by answering questions about science.

The event was part of the Scottish Executive's 2020 Science: Education conference.

Judges included Nasa astronaut Bonnie Dunbar, Sir Tom McKillop from AstraZeneca and Guriqbal Singh Jaiya from the World Intellectual Property Organisation.
