Schools urged to oppose the bullies

Education
Beatbullying has begun sending packs to schools urging them to take part in a national protest against bullying.

The anti-bullying charity is asking every school in the UK to back its second Big Stand demonstration, where children and adults stand for a minute to show their opposition to bullying. A website where schools can sign up to take part launched last week.

Beatbullying said an estimated million people took part in last year's protest. This year's Big Stand will take place at 10am on Tuesday 22 May.

A Beatbullying spokesman said: "The Big Stand is a positive way of addressing the subject, which is usually dealt with in a negative way."
