Funding

£171,000 over two years from April 2013, from the Big Lottery Fund's People and Places programme. BulliesOut's work continues with funding from Comic Relief, the Big Lottery Fund's Awards for All programme and Children in Need

Background: In 2006, Linda James, who experienced bullying in childhood, found herself going into "panic mode" when her 10-year-old son was bullied at school. While they were searching the web for support, he suggested she set something up herself, sparking the birth of Welsh charity BulliesOut.

The charity helped schools in South Wales tackle bullying by training and supporting pupils as peer mentors.

In 2013, it developed a young ambassador initiative, training young people to take a stand against bullying by volunteering in their communities.
