The leaflets, for 11- to 14-year-olds, include advice on subjects such as getting around safely, drugs, alcohol, and gun and knife crime. The cards will be given out as part of the police force's work with the Children's Safety Education Forum.
Rod Jarman, commander for the Metropolitan Police in north west London, said: "We need to understand what it is like to grow up in London and in a society that sees an item of clothing that keeps young people warm as an offensive weapon."
