Rural Youth: Worcestershire to retain pilot project

YouthWorcs-Rural, the rural team at Worcestershire Youth Service, recently finished the first stage of Partnerships for Rural Futures, a project giving young people a role in developing rural policies.

The project worked with local government, transport organisations and local businesses to help "youth proof" their policies after conducting an analysis of rural young people's needs.

Following its extension, the project plans to develop a rural transport forum and work with young people and housing partners to give them more influence in the planning process.

It was one of five pilots commissioned last year by The National Youth Agency through Partners in Innovation.
