The refuge, known as Checkpoint, consists of a drop-in centre offeringadvice for young runaways as well as one bed. It costs 150,000per year to fund.
The Children's Society confirmed that it had funding for the next 12months, which consisted of 100,000 of its own funding plus 50,000 of funding from the Garfield Weston Foundation.
A Children's Society spokesman said: "We have secured some externalfunding and we're also supporting the project with voluntary income, butthe question is, how long can it continue?"
The spokesman added that Torbay Council, which had funded the project inthe past, was unable to "put more money forward at this time".
