Cut off from support services, children resort to prostitution, drugs and crime to survive on the streets. The report also reveals what young people who had run away from home thought would make a difference.
Last year, the charity launched its Safe and Sound campaign, which calls for a national network of emergency accommodation for children who run away from home or care (Children Now, 24-30 March 2004).
