The event runs until 19 September and is being organised by the charity Save the Children Wales and the Participation Unit, a body set up by a consortium of charities in Wales to boost youth participation.
Involving young people in local decisions in areas such as leisure, public transport and education will be among topics covered at the roadshow.
The Participation Unit's manager Anna Skeels said: "We are hoping to raise awareness of the work we carry out and the ways young people themselves can get involved by becoming a young trainer, a volunteer or through fundraising."
The roadshow, which features a 15-foot inflatable octopus (pictured), aims to reach around 2,500 young people.
