Participation: Web site set up by youth partnership

A web site to help improve children's and young people's involvement in public decision-making was launched today.

The Participation Works web site provides practitioners with informationon participation including research, details of legislation andchildren's rights.

It was put together by the Children and Young People's ParticipationPartnership, a coalition of six children and youth organisationssupported by the Department for Education and Skills. The site alsoprovides training resources.

"This is the first time we've had an easy way of sharing and inputtingpractice across the UK. It links practitioners, young people,organisations, academics and policy makers - all the people who willlead to change," said Robert Bell, chair of the partnership and directorof Carnegie Young People Initiative.
