As services for young people adapt to the new world of local offerings and things to do and places to go, voluntary sector groups need to sharpen up their act in making sure that commissioners know what they can do. That at least would seem to be the rationale for this CD-Rom, produced by The Wildlife Trusts along with six partner organisations and pitched at the youth sector at large.

Its purpose is to encourage youth work managers and providers to recognise that engaging with "the environment" is an essential ingredient in young people's personal development. Through case studies of projects and comments from young people, the CD-Rom illustrates how such projects can contribute to key outcomes including health and wellbeing, employability, active citizenship, sustainability and social cohesion, as well as being enjoyable for their own sake and benefiting the environment.
