And while the authors were impressive in their breadth of knowledge,experience and distinctive backgrounds, they did not critique currentpractices from different perspectives. This would have helped furtherthe debate around the breaking down of professional barriers in relationto culture, ethos, language and values.
Having said all that, this was an interesting read. It is wellstructured and there are case studies, frameworks for specificapproaches and a range of evaluation findings.
The topics covered are also wide ranging. The book moves from looking atwhat is being done to engage children and parents in strengtheningcommunities through to how the process of urbanisation has meant theloss of play spaces for children.
