It has five key themes: Alcohol and Health, Alcohol and Keeping Safe, Problems with Alcohol, Alcohol and the Law, and Reasons for Drinking and Alcohol-Related Choices. The themes are all part of a storyline based in Boozeville, the fictional town that the resource is named after. Each theme includes a video sequence and ends with a quiz that addresses issues from the video. This can be followed up with an exercise found in the user manual.
Boozeville is an interesting resource with an engaging line of delivery.
It is highly interactive and aims to engage young people through this mode of learning, which is based on good practice principles of drug and alcohol education. The video clips make it entertaining for young people but in some places it can be rather slow and repetitive, especially in the morgue scenes.
