1. Helping young people talk openly and without embarrassment about condoms could be one of the most useful and long-lasting skills you give them. But you had better start by checking out your own limitations. Don't try engaging young people in conversations about condoms until you can talk freely and answer their questions without blushing. Practise going into chemists and chatting about condom prices, sizes and styles. You'll soon get used to it.
2. OK, if engaging in technical talk about condoms with chemist assistants is not very realistic, try the next best thing - the internet. Various web sites act as virtual shop displays where you can look at the range of products on offer and wise up in advance.
