1. A clean car driving licence can be all you need to drive a minibus legally. That's a minibus as defined as a vehicle designed to carry a driver and between eight and 16 seated passengers. Normally driving for hire and reward - where the passengers pay - would require higher medical standards and another test. Luckily, organisations providing activities of benefit to the community can get round this with minibus or community transport permits. Drivers have to be over 21 and have held a car licence for at least two years. Insurers may insist on over-25s - though shop around if this is an issue.
