1. Learning to handle alcohol and being comfortable with it in all situations are key parts of the transition to adulthood. Formal education systems are not always very much help, preferring outright bans and shying away from realistic talk. Informal education can be a natural place to learn. But youth workers need to make sure they follow good practice. Discuss policy in your teams and work out agreed responses to common dilemmas.

2. Who has had most to drink - someone who drank five vodka and oranges or two pints of lager? You need to know that a unit is 10ml of pure alcohol.
