Resources: Project notes - IPCC Young People's Project

1 min read

Goals: An initiative to inform young people about the IPCC and how to make a complaint

Funding: 12,000 from the IPCC budget was used to commission London Youth to deliver the project

Being respectful and polite are two of the things young Londoners have asked of the police at a series of events being held by the Independent Police Complaints Commission (IPCC) and London Youth.

The workshop sessions are aimed at under-19s across the capital, to raise awareness of the police complaints procedures.

Rosie Ferguson, head of youth action and innovation at London Youth, explains: "We were commissioned by the IPCC to get young people's opinions on how to better engage with the IPCC. I recruited a group of 12 peer educators."
