Resources: Project notes - Determined to Broadcast

1 min read

Goals: To develop students' confidence, interpersonal skills and creative and technical skills through radio broadcasting

Funding: The project has been funded to run from September until March as part of the Scottish Executive's 86m Determined to Succeed scheme.

"Awesome day," was one student's verdict after the Determined to Broadcast bus visited her school.

Backed by the Scottish Executive's Determined to Succeed strategy for enterprise in education, and Scotland's biggest radio charity, Radio Clyde's Cash for Kids, among others, the project was launched this month at St Andrews Secondary School in Glasgow. It takes a customised double-decker bus, fully equipped as a mobile radio station and production facility, to schools around Scotland, enabling students to create their own radio shows. A team of broadcast professionals are on hand to show the students the tricks of the trade.
