Research by drinks industry body The Portman Group found that parents are more worried about sex, drugs, smoking, strangers and bullying than about alcohol misuse by their children. This new leaflet for parents combines information about alcohol and safe consumption along with age-specific guidance on how to raise issues with their children aged eight to 11, 12 to 14 and 15 to 17.

Described as a "loss-awareness training package", this resource is designed for training staff in schools, care and other settings who may be working with bereaved children and young people. Produced by a multi-agency team including psychologists, teachers and nurses, it includes handouts for training sessions covering young people's understanding of death and recognising loss-related changes in behaviour.
