This guidance is based on research to identify effective methods of public involvement and, equally importantly, key steps in planning.

It looks at the strengths and weaknesses of methods such as citizens' injuries and participatory appraisal.

Leaving Care

Authors Jo Dixon and Mike Stein have looked at what happened to young people leaving care in three different local authorities in Scotland.

They take a look at the impact of through-care and aftercare services and argue that Scottish authorities need to create a more gradual transition to independence for care-leavers, combined with consistent support. The final chapter looks at successful and unsuccessful outcomes.
