One computer game that looks set to top young people's wish list this Christmas is Little Big Planet. The PlayStation 3 platform game involves players controlling characters known as Sackboys through a series of different challenges. As the characters complete each one, they move up to different levels of the game and get to explore new places.

What's said to be particularly special about Little Big Planet is the quality of the graphics, which are on a par with the best animated cartoons. The game also lets players customise their characters, allowing them not only to choose the colour but also the texture of their Sackboy.

The game has won high praise from the computer games industry since its launch last month and looks set to top the charts over Christmas.

What is it about rap artists? One minute you've never heard of them and the next they're in every newspaper. Soulja Boy is the latest US rapper to fit into that category. Last month the 18-year-old hit the headlines when he sent a "shout out" to the slave masters at a Hip Hop awards ceremony held in Atlanta. "Without them we'd still be in Africa," he said. "We wouldn't be here to get this ice and tattoos."
