What it is: This charity was set up in 1981 as a joint project between CSV Clyde Action and Radio Clyde. However, West Sound and South West Sound radio stations are also now on board.

The charity supports work in 13 areas: Inverclyde; Argyll and Bute;Dumfries and Galloway; East Ayrshire; South Ayrshire; North Ayrshire;East Dunbartonshire; West Dunbartonshire; Renfrewshire; EastRenfrewshire; Glasgow; North Lanarkshire; and South Lanarkshire.

How much is on offer: There are no specific funding brackets.

What it will fund: The charity has three main areas of giving.Sustainable grants are given over a period of up to three years and areaimed at long-term projects. The charity also gives special grants,which are one-off grants for specific purchases. The Christmas appeal isthe charity's main event and the money raised is used to ensure childrenin disadvantaged families can enjoy the holiday period. The 2006 appealraised more than 1m.
