What it is: The Local Network Fund was set up by the Department for Education and Skills to support the Every Child Matters: Change for Children agenda.

Set up in 2001, it will run until 2008 with the aim of enabling localcommunities to offer disadvantaged children and young peopleopportunities and services they wouldn't otherwise be able to have oraccess.

How much is on offer: The fund offers grants of between 250 and7,000.

What it will fund: Applications are invited under themes that are linkedto the five Every Child Matters outcomes: being healthy; staying safe;enjoying and achieving; making a positive contribution; and achievingeconomic wellbeing.

Projects must focus on children and young people aged between birth and19. The age limit is raised to 25 if participants have learningdisabilities.

Who can apply: The fund is aimed at locally managed organisations inEngland and the activities to be funded must finish before the fund endson 31 March 2008.
