How much is on offer: For 2007, the Big Lottery Fund has given 5.5m to the programme, which will be used to provide concessionaryplaces at the camps for at least 10,000 disadvantaged children.Concessionary places cost 25 or 100.
What it will fund: The places cover five nights and four days at one of40 camps in Yorkshire, Wales, the Midlands and the south of England.There is a vast range of activities on offer, including performing arts,watersports, survival skills, and film and media workshops. The campsare designed to give participants memorable experiences and enable themto mix with other young people from a variety of backgrounds. The priceincludes transport to and from the camps, food and drinks, and allactivities.
