Regeneration: Young to advise on Portsmouth

The Youth Advisers Portsmouth! project involves a group of 11 young consultants aged 14 to 16 who will communicate with local decision-makers on behalf of young people.

They will take part in "grumble walks", in which they will assess what improvements could be made to particular areas in the city. They will also "youth-proof" documents so that young people can understand them.

Maria Monaghan, the project's youth lead, said the consultants would "meet community leaders and arrange meetings" to get young people's views across.
