Refugee Action, an independent national charity, and UK for UNHCR, a charity that supports the work of the UN refugee agency, have teamed up to present Refuge, a series of club nights in London, Manchester and Liverpool.
Run as part of the upcoming Refugee Week, from 16 to 22 June, the awareness-raising and fundraising club nights are partly a response to a MORI poll last year that revealed unsympathetic attitudes towards refugees and asylum seekers among young people.
Sandy Buchan, Refugee Action chief executive, said: "Many of us often lack information about the facts behind the global refugee crisis. In response to this problem, Refuge aims to present clubbers with the experiences of refugees through a new web site.
