Randlay Primary School and Nursery, Telford

1 min read Education Extra-curricular
What did they do? Pupils, parents and staff at Randlay Primary School and Nursery took part in a healthy lifestyles evening, designed to promote personal, social and health education (PSHE) for people of all ages.

Who organised it? The event was arranged by the school's PSHE co-ordinator, as part of the government's latest health campaign Change4Life.

What did it involve? Members of the school's Let's Cook Together team spent the evening showing visitors how to make fresh fruit kebabs. Children and parents sampled healthy school meals made by the council's education catering services and took part in yoga sessions put on by the local provider YogaBugs.

Was that it? Families also took part in cycling safety lessons, organised by Bikeability, the organisation behind the cycling proficiency awards. And representatives from the local primary care trust gave visitors advice about oral hygiene and diet, with a focus on healthy lunch boxes.
