In May, Estelle Morris, chair of the Children's Workforce DevelopmentCouncil, told Children Now that getting a qualifications framework thatwas easily understood was one of her biggest challenges (Children Now,18-24 May).
But in its response to the Department for Education and Skills'consultation on the children's workforce strategy, the BritishAssociation of Social Workers says the proposed model does not enhancepublic or workforce understanding about career options anddevelopment.
The association also warns that the benefits of inter-agency workingmust be evaluated and challenged if it does not add value to theexperience of families.
