Project notes: Streets Ahead

1 min read

Goals: To offer practical support and guidance in an informal setting for young people at risk of dropping out

Funding: Received money from Newport City Youth Service, Cymorth - a Welsh Assembly Government support fund for children and young people - and the European Social Fund

Disengaged 16- to-25-year-olds in Newport will be given a helping hand to get back into education, training or employment through a new programme called Streets Ahead, run by Newport Youth Service.

The project, which launched on 11 April, will offer universal support in Bettws and Duffryn and targeted support to Black and minority ethnic (BME) young women in Pillgwenlly and Maindee.
