Goals: To engage a group of young women, and improve public perception of young offenders

Funding: The project cost about 11,000; it was funded by the youth offending team with support from Sussex Police.

This week the Fringe Basement in Kensington Gardens in Brighton is hosting an unusual exhibit as part of the CineCity arts festival. A large part of the experience will involve miniature houses, decorated to express the feelings of their designers.

These designers, who have also produced the rest of the multimedia exhibit, are nine young women from the local youth offending team. They have been working on the project since September, meeting regularly to work on their houses and other parts of the display, including a short film.
