Ed Miliband, Labour MP for Doncaster North and chair of the All-Party Parliamentary Group on Youth Affairs, tabled the motion last week. Miliband, who was set to host the Positive Images Awards ceremony at the House of Commons yesterday, said: "The youth of today deserve more credit than they get and it is great to have the opportunity to celebrate positive achievement."
Twenty-one MPs had signed the early day motion as Young People Now went to press.
Supporters include Labour MPs Ed Balls, Dawn Butler and Geoffrey Robinson; Conservative MPs Peter Bottomley and Philip Davies; and Liberal Democrat MP Andrew George.
