Although general attitudes towards eating a balanced diet are improving, poor diets remain an issue among young people from white working class families. There is a significant Asian element in Luton (18 per cent of the population). Higher levels of type two diabetes among Asians is partially genetic but is also down to a lot of ghee in the diet.
