What's this - more young people-bashing? The problem is, it seems, that young people's personal hygiene is not all it could be. A new survey reckons they are putting themselves at risk by poor cleanliness.

Even those who know about the importance of washing hands aren't great at putting it into practice.

Who's claiming this? The Food and Drink Federation (FDF), the self-proclaimed voice of the UK food and drink manufacturing industry. FDF works to "build consumer confidence in the food chain".

Some may think having a pop at young people was an easy way to get a few headlines during its National Food Safety Week from 9 to 15 June.
