If it's not the Ashes, then it's Ruth Kelly, Secretary of State for Education and Skills, enthusing about the potential of the 2012 Olympics to invigorate cross-curriculum learning. Sport is also, of course, a major plank in the Youth Matters green paper.
Have we got the structure to support sport development? In the light of the 2012 Games, the Government has streamlined the administration of sport policy. UK Sport takes responsibility for elite sport. Sport England and the equivalent bodies will focus on grass-roots sport, widening participation locally, especially among young people.
