There's been quite a spate of activity in July, hasn't there? You do rather get the impression that the Government is clearing its desks and getting all its reviews, plans and strategies out in the public domain so that it can go off to Chiantishire for August, leaving the rest of us to mull it over.
And is there much to mull over in the Child Poverty Review - for youth workers that is? Depends. Obviously, everyone is concerned about child poverty and clearly youth workers are as aware as anyone that poverty and disadvantage for young children will usually mean a range of issues to address aged 13 plus. To that extent, the existing progress and new measures announced here for attacking poverty and material deprivation are part of the social policy wind that blows on the shores of youth work.
