Play services for adult prisons

Education Youth Work
Play projects for children visiting parents in jail are to be launched in three adult prisons.

The Prison Advice and Care Trust is setting up the projects after securing £240,000 from the Big Lottery Fund. The trust will use the money to provide support and play services for children visiting relatives at Channings Wood, Dartmoor and Exeter prisons in the South West of England.

Children will be able to play with toys and games to help them feel more settled, with play workers on hand to help children during their visit.

Child-friendly information will also be available to give them a greater understanding of the issues and procedures they may face during their visit.
