The theme of the Children's Play Council-led event on 2 August is Play,Naturally.
"It's a two-pronged theme," said a spokeswoman. "What we're trying toget across is that it's natural for children to play. We are alsobigging up the importance of playing in natural environments."
Research on the benefits of playing in natural environments will bepublished on the day.
And this year's event will span the UK with events held across all fournations.
