Members of the university and college lecturers' union NATFHE and the higher education union AUT are refusing to mark exam papers or invigilate exams until a pay dispute with their employers is resolved.
Hamish Murphy, principal lecturer, youth and community, at the North East Wales Institute, and chair of the NATFHE branch there, warned: "Exams won't get marked, and they won't get processed. For youth and community work students there is no hope of them graduating until the dispute is resolved."
The unions are calling for an agreement with the Universities and Colleges Employers' Organisation for a 23 per cent pay rise over three years.
