Participation: Youth parliament rewards members

The organisation wants to create an internal accreditation scheme. It is consulting its members on what the scheme should include.

Gail Lucas, the organisation's regional development manager for the North, said: "There's no accreditation that will cover our full age range from 11 to 18."

The organisation will be inviting accreditation bodies to draw up options for youth parliament member accreditation, based on young people's ideas.

It hopes to launch an accreditation scheme for its members by the middle of next year.
