More than 40 were to attend the youth hearing on community cohesion, organised by the all-party parliamentary group on youth affairs.
The hearing follows the Cantle Report, which lays out recommendations in involving young people in building cohesive communities.
Nine youth groups were chosen to talk about themes including cross-cultural, inter-faith and inter-generational work. One of the groups was from Lambeth Youth Council, which is developing a training programme for Lambeth police.
Armajit Chanion, Lambeth Youth Council development worker, said: "Young people from Lambeth are at the heart of this work."
