Participation: Thames youth devise first regeneration manifesto

1 min read

The Billboard Project, led by Creative Partnerships Thames Gateway, allows 11- to 16-year-olds to become community reporters, film-makers and researchers.

Young people are putting together a range of materials about regeneration in the area, including plans they would like to see implemented in the future.

The Billboard Lab, a customised shipping container that transforms into a fully equipped film studio, has visited schools in Thurrock and Basildon and will be moving to Southend-on-Sea in May.

Greg Klerks, of art company Nimble Fish, which is also working on the project, said: "We are trying to put in place a mechanism that can be used at a national level so that these young people can be listened to."
