Outdoor education: Welsh centre plans 10m makeover

1 min read

Colomendy Outdoor Pursuits Centre caters for young people, schools and youth clubs. Paul Clein, executive member for Liverpool Children's Services, said: "One of the main reasons for the redevelopment is to make the service more attractive to young adults and offer the same access to them as to school children. It is an asset we want to preserve for generations to come."

The site in Loggerheads near Mold will include a zip wire, rope adventure activities, abseiling and a cave complex.

The Big Lottery's New Opportunities Fund and Liverpool City Council are funding the 1m preliminary work to assess the site before council chiefs decide whether to give the 10m project the green light. The council expects to cover the cost of the work from its education budget.
